Welcome to Funtana - the most touristy town on the Adriatic coast!
Once a fishing and agricultural village, today a bustling little tourist town on the west Istrian coast, located alongside the Poreč – Vrsar road, with a coast stretching from Zelena Laguna (Green Lagoon) in the west to Valkanela in the south. It's the most indented part of the Istrian peninsula with numerous bays and islets. The area is dotted with vinyards, olive groves, meadows and pine and oak woods which often reach all the way to the very sea. Funtana also used to be famous for mineral water springs.
Climate is mild mediterranean, with an average temperature in January +5 C, and in August +28 C. Sea is clean, bathing season lasts from May to October.Lowest average sea temperature is +9C and highest +24C.
Refresh yourself during the hottest days under the greenery of pines and oaks or relax on the blue flagged beaches of Funtana, Vrsar and Poreč. The beaches are natural, rocky, somewhere also pebbly and sandy. They are functional, adapted to persons with disabilities, with showers, hand railings to enter the water, changing booths, pools for children and non-swimmers.
Along the beach one can find children’s playgrounds, spots for refreshment, sport and recreation (tennis, table tennis, mini golf, bikes, beach volley, bocce, water sports).
The beach is reachable in ten minutes of pleasant walk, joined by a curious squirrel or a blackbird here and there. And for those who come by car, parking is free and shaded.
